Description:Job Title: Business AnalystJob Category: Financial Analysis Product: (Not Product Specific) Date Posted: 08/01/2008 Job Code: 238758 Location: WA - Redmond Travel Required: The Media & Entertainment Business Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a core set of business analytics and health indices for the leading world-wide Media and Entertainment industry partners. E&D's overall success with strategic entertainment industry partners is dependent on building and maintaining a deep understanding on key levers the drive decision making with these partner companies. This person will contribute to the larger E&D business objectives by understanding the key influences across the media and entertainment industry as well as how these business and technical influences affects our partner relationship; all plays a key driver in how we work with and approach these strategic companies. The Business Analyst will be responsible for implementation and driving planning and measurement processes and engagements. This includes maintenance of all up metrics and measurements which strive to enable insightful and meaningful business discussion, understanding, and decision-marking in the following three areas; 1. Review, analysis & communication of external data from numerous, credible, external third party research sources with the intent to understand current issues, influencing forces and key stakeholders in decision making. 2. Financial modeling approached which is intended to yield insight and analysis on cost/benefit scenarios across various aspects of technology and policy decisions. 3. Development of business opportunities based on fiscally sustainable metrics for measuring the impact of successful partnering strategies across various E&D and Microsoft business units. Primary responsibilities are to work with the group's, business manager and direct reports to develop key financial analysis priorities and to formalize / automate a disciplined analysis and ROI measurement of the group's partnering engagements. In addition, this individual will be seen as the "go to" person for in depth analysis of our key partner's current financial and market position. It is expected that the business analyst should be able to weigh company/divisional priorities against partner analysis and provide insightful recommendations key decision making factors/trade-offs and well as contribute to business strategy discussions Candidate should have demonstrated excellent analytical, problem resolution, and decision-making skills. Any candidate must possess excellent oral/written communication abilities, people management, and problem resolution skills. The position requires demonstrated cultural and business sensitivities of our partners; the ability to interact with senior management across the company and to lead virtual teams with challenging, cross-organizational objectives. Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or MBA in finance or business management, preferably with 5-7 years in related finance or business analysis experience in either/both high tech software and Media and Entertainment industry.
