Are you equally passionate about videogames and the videogame industry as you are about using pivot tables? Does finding cool solutions to challenging technical problems make your day? If so, we want to hear from you. The IEB (Xbox and Games for Windows) global marketing organization needs a self-driven business analyst to join the business intelligence team. Candidates should have a background in marketing and/or computer science. A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in computer science.

The business analyst's primary responsibilities include:
practical knowledge of troubleshooting issues in SQL Server 2005 including: performance (blocking, query optimization), query failures (deadlocks, exceptions), distributed queries, logical and physical database design, security models.
data deliver ad-hoc reporting and data requests as necessary
maintain infrastructure servers, databases, and applications
reconcile discrepancies between systems using data analytic tools

Qualifications:
Moderate to advanced SQL skills and experience working with SQL 2005
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, filters and vlookup
Strong written, verbal communication skills and excellent organization skills
3+ years of experience designing databases and database systems
2+ years of data analysis experience, preferably within the videogame industry or similar entertainment field
Experience managing SharePoint portals and using office web components is a plus
Understanding of Microsoft's latest BI tools including Business Scorecard Manager, ProClarity and Performance Point Server
Hard-core gamer and/or videogame industry experience a major plus
