Description:Accounting ProfessionalsPOSITION: INVENTORY ACCOUNTING ANALYST This position will be responsible for the following duties: LIFO - Annual calculation of LIFO reserve balance Annual journal entries for LIFO Monthly LIFO forecasting Quarterly estimated LIFO entries NPM - Monthly analysis of NPM Monthly MPM Forecasting Quarterly journal entries Full Absorption - Annual calculation of Full Absorption reserve balance Annual journal entries SOX - Design documentation preparation and review for Inventory FIN 45 - Analyze new contract guarantees Review journal entry and reconcile FIN 45 accounts quarterly FIN 47 - Annual review and analysis of environmental obligation Record adjusting entries and account reconciliation for FIN 47 PGM - Record monthly PGM unrealized gains/losses and related deferred taxes Reconcile the PGM accounts Reconciliations - Miscellaneous accounts reconciliations as assigned GLCM - assist with the preparation and rollout of the General Ledger Compliance Manager Tool Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance CPA and / or MBA preferred Five years experience in Accounting / Finance related positions from a Public Accounting Firm or a Fortune 100 Manufacturing company POSITION: CONSOLIDATION & EXTERNAL REPORTING SPECIALIST This position will be responsible for the following duties: Monthly preparation of Canadian and US dollar financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS as well as the monthly consolidation activities including foreign exchange reevaluation The candidate will prepare extensive financial reporting and annual Canadian dollar financial statements in accordance with Canadian GAAP Responsible for the implementation of complex accounting policies and accounting research, as required Ensuring overall compliance with internal control requirements for Sarbanes Oxley, including documentation and testing is required Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce Degree with an accounting designation Must be a CA, CGA, or CPA MBA is preferred Must have 5 - 7 years of public accounting or relevant industry experience Fluency with MS Office applications, Hyperion and SAP are essential POSITION: ACCOUNTING RESEARCH ANALYST This position will be responsible for the following duties: Research technical accounting issues and prepare whitepapers on various business transactions for review with the Corporate Accounting Director, Vice-President - Corporate Financial Control and Executive VP Participate in the review discussions with DCC's external auditors, KPMG, relative to DCC's chosen accounting policies Coordinate the implementation of accounting policies and guidelines with the affected operating groups, requiring interaction with senior managers across the Corporation Preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports relating to the DaimlerChrysler Fund and related preparation for the annual audit Preparation of analysis of asset impairments and the valuation of goodwill required under SFAS 142 Coordinate preparation and distribution of quarterly Accounting Issues Review meetings held with Senior Management Preparation of quarterly and annual documentation to support compliance with specific accounting guidelines including FIN 45 (Guarantees), FIN 46 (VIE analysis and Consolidation), EITF 01-8 (Embedded Leases), EITF 00-21 (Revenue Arrangements with Multiple Deliverables), etc. Review and analysis of the impact of International Reporting Standards on business transactions being analyzed under US GAAP and Corporate Accounting Policies Prepare and amend the Corporate Controller's Manual for changes in accounting policies resulting from the work noted above Technical Accounting research on various topics, as assigned Special projects, as assigned Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA required, 5 years experience in Accounting or Finance, Big 4 accounting experience desirable Excellent technical accounting, communication and teamwork skills required Knowledge of accounting pronouncements and external reporting requirements Strong personal computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP helpful Must excel in high pressure, time-constrained environment. Strong analytical skills. Overtime required but self-managed.
