Description:Job DescriptionSeeking several staff and senior level accountants for a leader in the construction/real estate arena. JOB SUMMARY Under limited supervision, responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for a real estate portfolio. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works independently with minimal supervision; follows through, completes and accepts ownership of all projects and tasks; demonstrates initiative to new challenges. Performs multiple special requests, with varying deadlines, while maintaining routine workload demands and deadlines. Coordinates projects for an assigned accounting team; takes initiative to cover workload when other staff members are out. Effectively trains staff and may act as a team lead in absence of Manager. Maintains a positive attitude while demonstrating leadership skills. Demonstrates a strong knowledge of company policies and procedures. Actively involved in providing ideas and feedback in department or team meetings. Adapts to new procedures quickly and applies learned skills to different situations; demonstrates strong initiative and drive and responds to requests quickly. Ensures cash receipts and payables are entered and processed in a timely manner. Verifies accuracy of rent roll information and ensures all tenant billings and lease changes are entered in a timely manner. Prepares all aspects of the financial statement package, including creating and posting journal entries, general ledger review and completion of back up and subsidiary schedules with emphasis on experience with advanced level accounting and reporting requirements; completes higher level complex financial analysis. Ensures that the financial package is completed and delivered in a timely and accurate manner for Real Estate Managers and Clients. Monitors and maintains cash balances as required by Client. Works to resolve and respond to issues and requests from Real Estate Managers and Clients. Analyzes and understands variances in financial statements and documents explanation for significant items. Provides advanced support to Real Estate Manager to ensure accurate completion and explanation of both full Revenue and Expense cycle transactions. Prepares management fee calculations and ensures related invoices are paid. Prepares A/R reconciliations and follows up on open issues. Reviews and/or prepares monthly points allocations to validate scope of services delivered and provides to manager. Ensures all debt, real estate tax, sales tax and owner distribution payments are made in a timely manner and internal databases are maintained. Completes all bank reconciliations and ensures all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner. Adheres to Client and internal accounting policies and procedures, may participate in the best practices group. May assume the lead for a Client audit request. Reviews, evaluates and provides feedback on budget information; verifies that budget information has been properly input. Ability to complete and analyze complex annual year-end operating expense calculations. Assists and/or leads the transition of properties. Assumes and actively seeks out increased responsibilities. Advanced knowledge of multiple accounting software systems. Ability to trouble-shoot software issues. Recognizes potential issues and/or conflicts and initiates corrective action in order to minimize issues. Other duties may be assigned. Note: Please Mention Get Accountant Jobs when applying
